In Progress: 10 Gracie Square

This 4,700 s.f. sleek modern tenant fitness center is built in the 1st and 2nd Basement levels of a historic apartment building at 10 Gracie Square in Manhattan. The gym features a squash court, double height cardio area with skylight, and a separate stretching room with local dimming. Direct/indirect rectangular and circular pendants provide diffuse ambient lighting throughout with track lighting at weightlifting and Pilates reformer stations to help residents to check their form in mirrors while exercising. Accent lighting at textured ceramic tiled columns, grazing lights at the double height brick feature wall, and halo lighting around mirrors bring focus to architectural features.

MFLD is working with Imrey Studio on the $9.5 million renovation of the Harlem School for the Arts. The renovation is funded by the Herb Alpert Foundation and includes a new facade, energy efficient upgrades and a new cafe and garden. Construction photos are below.
MFLD Honored with 2019 Lumen Award

MFLD was honored to win an Award of Merit for their work on the Millerton Pool House.
The Lumen Awards were established in 1968 by the New York City Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IESNYC) and developed to publicly recognize excellence, professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design. The IESNYC announced the recipients of the 2019 Lumen Awards at the 51st annual Lumen Gala.
Grace Church School honored with AIA NY State Design Award

Congrats to MBB, who were honored with a 2019 AIA New York State Design Citation for their work at Grace Church School Athletic Center. MFLD provided lighting design for this project that included student commons, classrooms, staff offices as well as a double height gymnasium.
Gordon Chapel receives Faith+Form Award

462 Broadway wins Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award

PBDW and team has won a Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award for their stunning work on 462 Broadway. Their meticulous restoration has returned a French Renaissance-style building to its original glory. The project also won a MASterworks Award for Best Restoration from the Municipal Art Society of New York, and a Stanford White Award for Historic Preservation in 2018.

Duane Library wins Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award

PBDW and team have won a Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award for their work on the Duane Library at Fordham University. The restoration breathed new life into the campus landmark, making it a relevant and vital part of the University. The scope included interior and exterior renovations, as well as major infrastructural upgrades.
